quick update

Oh, hi! Sorry, I’ve been out here living and ignoring this blog! And if you haven’t followed along on Insta or FB, well then you might be a little lost.

My second infusion of Herceptin and Perjeta went well! No nausea follow the infusion and overall few side effects - woo!

I’m officially 18 sessions into radiation. Wow, time sure does fly! So far no skin changes - I’m shocked! My rads oncologist suggested this lotion 3 times a day and it’s really working. It’s not cheap (thank you for donating so I can purchase these things!) but it definitely works. I have had fatigue, headaches, and now difficulty swallowing. The effects are cumulative - of course (theme here in cancer treatments) so they’ll continually get worse, even for a few weeks after treatment ends. But, I’m glad my skin is holding up so far. Also, the lovely company Radiant Wrap sent me a gorgeous wrap for treatments and I’m obsessed!! Typically, you wear a long normal hospital gown that opens in the back. These things are just too big and there’s no sense in tying it because you’re so quickly on the table untying it to pull your arms out so they can align you properly. They are also just meh and kind of bum me out. This wrap has been such a cute little perk! Also, I wear it around the house to allow the area to breathe. It helps a lot when I have to pop from physical therapy to rads - I don’t have to change twice!

Overall, just powering through! I have a few updates coming to this site so it’s easier for new people. The whole point of this is to help others who are just diagnosed and also as an outlet for myself.
